Reflection
In this final project, our group topic is about how entertainment affects people’s life. We divided this into three perspectives: stereotypes, fashion and cars. In my part of research, I want to find out why people love cars so much. At first, I thought cars only involved in the movies in the entertainment industry. But with the research kept going, I found it was not only about movies. Auto shows, car-racing events, TV programs are all involved in the entertainment industry. It was much broader than I expected. It was not easy for me to find the sources. This was because “Why people love cars?” was a question about personal feeling, not the facts. Then I decided to use the facts to support my view, for example, the sales figures and the number of audiences of a car-racing event.
At the beginning of the project, we had no idea how to do a 40 minutes podcast; we were quite worried about our content. When we stared to record the podcast, we were a bit nervous and did not know what to say, but as the recording kept going we became relaxed and it became quite smooth. This was because we had many conversations in our podcast. The presentation style was mainly discussion based. It not only made us engaged in the podcast, but also made the content rich. We thought our audiences would felt the same, too.
Time conflict is always not easy to resolve in a group project, everyone has different schedule. In our group, we managed it quite well. We had several efficient group meeting and everyone tried their best to contribute for the team. This project is beneficial for my future career because it helped me improved the communication and problem-solving skills. We also enjoyed recording the podcast. It felt so good when we made it last more than 40 minutes.
